PLATF9RM Physical: Walkshop With Unknown Epic

Tuesday 30 January l 8AM - 10AM @ Secret Location

Each month Kim from Unknown Epic will be leading a small group of PLATF9RM members on an early morning breakfast walk to help us unplug, make ideas become clearer and our connections stronger.

Starting at 8AM from secret locations, we'll be exploring a different route though the area of outstanding natural beauty that surrounds our city each month (co-ordinates revealed a few days before, all will be within 15 mins of Tower Point).

It will be two hours of walking, talking, fresh coffee and a light breakfast surrounded by nature while gazing back at our city with a fresh perspective.

PLATF9RM Ideas Café: Hosted By Happy Start Up School

Thursday 1 February l 9AM - 10:30AM, Floor 6 Tower Point

Hosted by the founders of the Happy Startup School, Laurence and Carlos, the purpose of Ideas Café is to connect likeminded entrepreneurs and experts, forge new friendships and share knowledge. Some of you may gain a new insight, some of you may solve a problem but everyone will leave feeling energised and inspired to make things happen.

Using the Lean Coffee format we help everyone who attends to participate in discussions that mean something to them and where they feel they can lend their expertise and/or experience. You will be split into groups of 6 to 8 (depending on attendance) and each group will have a facilitator to guide them through the discussions. It's fast paced, participatory and driven by the passion of the group.

PLATF9RM Politics: Peter Kyle

Friday 2 February l 1PM - 2PM, Hove Town Hall

Peter Kyle is the current MP for Hove and Portslade, and we’re genuinely chuffed to have him speak at Hove Town Hall.

Peter is a true local boy. Born in West Sussex, he moved to Brighton in 1996 and attended Sussex University. Here he gained a doctorate in community development, the seeds from which his future career as a Labour MP were sewn.

Before taking office in 2015, he co-founded the video production company Fat Sand. He also worked as an aid worker in Eastern Europe and was appointed chief executive of Working For Youth, a business-led initiative that tackles UK youth unemployment.

He’ll be reflecting on these, his personal story, and the numerous roles he’s inhabited within parliament during this hour-long talk about his life. We can’t wait!
