Company Of The Week - This Is Publicity

This week we’re with Jasmin and Katie, the lovely ladies from This Is Publicity, a PR and digital marketing agency specialising in art and interiors. We’ve been hearing over the past few weeks all about their exciting new home renovation and interiors styling project, The House That Bloggers Built.

Let's start at the very beginning, what does your company do?

J: This Is Publicity joins up all elements of the communications mix, from PR, to social media, to all forms of digital marketing and SEO. We’ve recently launched The House That Bloggers Built, something which has never been done before. It’s a very exciting platform creating content for brands and elevating the team of bloggers and instagrammers that we’ve curated for the project.

What brought you to PLATF9RM?

J: We hired Katie!

K: Woo me!

J: Katie was hired full time - this is her first month working for This Is Publicity and suddenly I couldn’t work from my kitchen anymore. So, we needed some space and this is a really lovely space - I like the decor, I like the interiors. It’s just creative and inspiring, you aren’t stuck at the same desk day in, day out.

K: Definitely

IF MONEY WERE NO OBJECT, WHAT SINGLE PIECE OF ART WOULD YOU OWN AND WHY?

J: If money were no object I would probably buy a pair of Damien Hirst glitter Mickey and Minnie ridiculously big prints, really garish, ostentatious and sparkly... but I’d need a much bigger house to put them in first.

WHAT IS YOUR DEATH ROW MEAL?

K: Probably something really hearty like a nut roast or a veggie wellington… with a massive piece of apple crumble and custard for dessert.

J: If it could be absolutely anything I’m definitely going to go for an 18 course tasting menu, from Claridges!

ANY FUN FESTIVAL PLANS THIS SUMMER?

K: I went to Glastonbury and managed to get VIP tickets, because I am a very important person! I may be going to Shambala too.

J: I used to do a minimum of 3 festivals a year until I had a baby, and it all stopped! But I’d love to do a little day festival this year.

SING/RAP/SPEAK YOUR FAVOURITE SONG LYRIC AND TELL ME WHY IT’S YOUR FAVE

K: Don’t know exactly but anything by Thom Yorke because I just think he is a poet as well as a lyricist. And Radiohead are the best band ever and everyone knows it

J: I’ve got this one in my head… (sings) Let me take you to a place you wanna goooo, it’s a good life.

K: What’s that?

J: Good Life by Inner City

K: (sings) If you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain...

YOU’RE HOSTING YOUR DREAM DINNER PARTY, WHAT DO YOU COOK AND WHO IS THERE?

J: My favourite dinner to cook is scallops, black pudding, pancetta and peas to start, venison steak with vanilla and shredded beetroot salad and then creme brulee.

K: Mmmmm…

J: And I guess it would be with my family and friends. And maybe Grayson Perry. And Kate Moss. And Lady Gaga.

WHAT DID YOU DREAM ABOUT LAST NIGHT?

K: I had a dream I was in a massive house with my ex. I had left my mobile outside and it was snowing so we had to go and get it. Unfortunately I was only wearing a bath towel and then a stampede of elephants came towards me…

TELL ME YOUR BEST/WORST JOKE?

J: Not sure if it’s best or worst but it’s the only one I can remember… Why did the baker have brown hands?

K: Why?

J: Because he kneaded a poo.

Another week, another couple of members. Join us next time to get to know some else here at PLATF9RM a little bit better.
