What a month it’s been! We’ve had such a great time opening Hove Town Hall and meeting our new members. If it’s your first day/week/month please do NOT be shy about talking to us. We genuinely love hearing what makes our members tick. We might even give you cake.
Here's what happened at PLATF9RM this month...
HOVE WAS ALL AROUND
Our free co-working week saw over 70 people come in and try the space. We’re really proud of it and were so happy (also: relieved) to see people reacting positively. If you STILL haven’t checked Hove Town Hall out, please book a trial here.
Members of our team were lucky enough to attend the main event at Brighton Dome, a particular highlight of the day was Jake Tyler’s, Black Dog Walks. Read all about local boy Jake’s adventures here, where he documents via social media the positive effects of exercise on mental health.
ELLIE AT FORGOTTEN CUTS
BRINGS THE NOSE-TO-TAIL HOLY GRAIL
Ellie Ledden brought her insanely good Forgotten Cuts street food to both PLATF9RM locations this month. That woman does incredible things with off-cuts, and both meat and vegan dishes sold out. From now on, she’ll be at Tower Point every Wednesday and Hove Town Hall every last Wednesday of the month.
SPOOKTACULAR SOCIAL WAS WELL SPOOKY
We had a great turn-out for the Social, with everyone bloody-ing up for the occasion. Dry ice drinks were a hit as was the pumpkin carving, showing once again that PLATF9RM members go nuts for crafts when they’re a few drinks deep. Check out the photos on Facebook. Check out our photo booth photos too.
Here's what we have coming up in November....
HOW TO BUILD A COMMUNITY THAT PEOPLE LOVE
Wednesday 15 November l Floor 5, 5PM - 7PM, Tower Point
Meaning is an annual Brighton conference that explores how business can shape the future. We’re delighted to hold a Meaning Fringe event on Floor 5 at Tower Point on Wednesday 15 November, with a panel of inspirational speakers. Each has been at the helm of a progressive operation and they’ll be exploring the importance of community in business, and discussing how Brighton can innovate harder than the rest. Come, yeah?

But finding and hiring the right talent and keeping them is a very real challenge that can profoundly affect your businesses chance of success.
So, if you are a solopreneur looking to make your first hire or a larger business trying to scale your team for growth, this is definitely the talk for you. We have three fascinating perspectives from three amazing people on how to build and keep a team.
