Dad La Soul’ is a revolutionary, grassroots movement, that uses the arts, music, tech and play to tackle social isolation in dads and kids.
We bring them together, challenge conventions, spark conversations and start friendships with dads that perhaps might otherwise struggle in silence or isolation.
Our new Saturday morning clubs are for dads, stepdads, granddads, male carers who want to hang out with their kids, play/learn/teach new skills and make some new cool friends.
You can expect: Soft play, crafting, Lego, dress-up and as part of a monthly theme, everything from filmmaking, DJ workshops, circus skills, zombie mask making, den building, science lessons and a whole lot more.
This month is VERY special we have:
Brighton's own Audio Active crew dropping by to teach us how to Rap and make funky beats of some nifty technology. Poorly Toy Surgery - Our own toy doctor Matt Marchant will be on hand to fix any of your kid's broken toys
Expect old-school tunes, games, card-making, and general dad-related daftness. Bring your favourite toys and games and join the party.
We have an incredible HQ in the centre of Hove at Platf9rm. It's a huge and very Funky co-working space that includes: auditorium-styled seating, a full HD Panasonic laser projector, a projector screen, a 14 channel mic/line mixer, as well as a cafe and bar.
Usually full of a smorgasbord of professions: film-makers, PR agencies, illustrators, charities, accountants, writers, cleaners, graphic designers and plenty more, Platf9rm is the perfect space for us to bring an army of kids into.
Dad La Soul is essentially the dad version of when women go to the toilet together at the pub except the kids are invited.
Its a safe space for dads and kids to let off steam, have some banter and ask for help.
Suitable for children aged 0-10.
**PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A GROUP FOR DADS & KIDS ONLY.
NO UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN/MUMS OR DADS WITHOUT CHILDREN WILL BE ADMITTED*
