The Importance of Beeing

We welcome Stewart Graham to PLATF9RM for The Importance of Beeing.

A swarm of bees fell from the sky into Stuart's little garden and he was hooked. Since that day in May 2008 he has caught dozens more swarms, bottles hundreds of jars of delicious honey and fermented very many litres of mead which can only be described as rank. Each colony inspection is a sweet blend of fear and fascination of these weird alien insects whose genes determine it is worthy to sting and die for their sisters for the greater good. And all this whilst the bees, as a consequence of their ceaseless labour, ensure fruit for our tables and and cotton for our backs. Join Stuart to see his bees and hear why beekeeping is the ultimate extreme hobby.

There will be lots of beekeeping kit to get your hands on in this interactive session, and it will be fun and informative regardless of whether you like honey on your toast. Book your ticket here. Bee there or bee square.

Open to members and non-members.
